Baton Rouge STEM FEST – FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC


Urban League of Louisiana in partnership with EnrollBR will hold a STEM Fest kicking off STEM NOLA introduction of STEM Baton Rouge on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at BRCC Gymnasium (Bonne Sante Wellness Center) located on BRCC campus at 201 Community College Drive from 9 am to 12:00 pm. To celebrate this launch, STEM Baton Rouge will host a FREE fun-filled day of Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM). Kids and Parents can come anytime from 9 AM to 12 Noon. All participants must register online at www.BatonRouge.com. This is NOT a drop-off events, parents must stay with kids. Activities will kick off promptly at 9 AM with a short program. We will host a hospitality area for parents and volunteers. Sponsors include: Urban League of Louisiana, EnrollBR, Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) and STEM NOLA. Children and adults of all ages are invited to participate in hand-on activities, perform experiments, design and program robots, race remote control (RC) cars, build tooth-pick bridges and towers, fly drones in a 20 ft. by 30 ft. cage, operate humanoids, control hydrodynamics, explore chemistry, experience life science and launch rocket at some of the 50 stations. STEM NOLA will introduce a MAKERS Space area where kids will design and build all types of items to take home. Participants will also explore science in new ways, experience technology in different applications, engage in engineering activities and embrace the fun in Mathematics. Kids will meet and interact with engineers, scientists, medical professionals and skill tradesmen! There will be all types of surprises and takeaways for the kids.
